Hello there!

It's always good to get past that shortest day of the year and look forward to the warmer weather getting closer.  It will be Christmas again before we know it!

Our grass has held up well so far, but those little weaners are starting to eat well.  It only seems like yesterday that lovely little bunch of calves were born. All around eight months old they are all looking just beautiful.

We have  just delivered a little bull and two heifers to a family who are very excited with their little herd. I think it was a great relief for Hugh to be able to deliver stock close by in the Sunshine Coast hinterland area. Those trips to Western Australia and South Australia are just too long!

Because so many people buy our  little cattle 'sight unseen', we have always delivered the animals personally.  That way we know they travel well, at leisure, and  they arrive in the same state as when they left home.  It is also good to meet the new owners and give them a few tips if they are new to the mini cattle experience.

A few weeks ago we had a call from a gentleman who had bought two steers off us over ten years ago.  One had just died and he was after another couple of animals to keep the remaining steer from pining too much for his old friend. It is good to know that our little animals live a long and happy life after they leave us. These animals bring a lot of joy to people who take the time to care for them well.

Our grandchildren love the calves too.  It was a highlight of last week's visit to be able to sit in the yard with the calves and handfeed them.  They can't understand why we don't keep them all.

Till next update...................
